Book Reviews & Writing News
Please note: I am not currently open to book review requests with the possible exception of authors or publishers I already know. I’m sorry this may come as a disappointment, and I really want to support the indie writing community as much as I can but at the moment taking requests is beyond my capacity as a reader. However, I can say with my whole chest that if you have used generative AI in any capacity in the production or promotion of your “book”, your request would certainly be denied. Especially if you use AI to write the request (seriously wtf is wrong with you?)
Book Review: After the Syzygy
I have really enjoyed J.D. Sanderson’s work in the past. If you haven’t already, you can check out my review for his twilight-zone inspired short story collection Around the Dark Dial here. I like it when sci-fi books teach me something new about science or astronomy (it’s not a requirement for me, but it’s nice when it happens) but I’ve never had that happen right on the title page before...
Book Review: Around the Dark Dial
A Twilight-zone inspired science fiction short story collection from J.D. Sanderson. Anthologies and short story collections really are great, aren’t they? I’ve come to enjoy them over the last couple of years, and it’s one of the more unexpected things to come out of my journey back into reading science fiction. Especially from fellow independent authors. There’s a goldmine of great ideas and exceptional work to be read, that all too often doesn’t get the attention it deserves.
